You don't see this every day
Have you ever seen a hummingbird moth?  Just sit on our courtyard with a relaxing view of the gardens and lake.  Keep your eyes peeled and you can see a hummingbird moth.  Some guests think it is a hummingbird but if you look close it is smaller and different colors.

Gardens at my Lake Home
Not only lake side with many amenities at our inn.  One of the extra features of this bed and breakfast is all of our different gardens we take great pride in.  I work very hard with the gardens, lawn care and up keep of the inn. Not to mention canning and hunting this time of year I have to stay busy to keep my body moving with my osteonecrosis.  My biggest pride and joy is the vegetable garden all planted from seed, planned and cared for by myself.  Flower gardens are all over the property and I designed and lovingly cared for each one.  The mushroom garden is something you most likely won't see anywhere else.  I inoculate logs with shitake spores and produces my veggie gardenown mushroom.  This is a huge job and takes a lot of attention and timing.

Summer Storms
I guess the north land is the target area this summer.  Just about every small town and city south of us and including us have been hit but one storm or another.  There have been 4 storms in the past 5 weeks that have devastated surrounding communities.  Then there is E. Dixon Lake Rd where a small but fierce wind came in and went right thru just part of the peninsula we live on.  From my corn patch which was knocked down for the 2nd time in 2 weeks to 2 doors down where a camper was flipped completely upside down and in between where about 40 some trees came down.  My husband & I spent hours cleaning up the drive way so neighbors and guest can get thru.  We consider ourselves lucky compared to other places where homes, cars, businesses and people were injured in the storms.

Lake side Bed and breakfast
Breakfast is served in a lovely lake side setting, an elegantly decorated table with the water fountains soothing sounds and soft music.  The 4 course breakfast is always hearty, unique and gourmet.  The 2nd story lake views are stunning with the birds feeding high in the unique bird feeding system in the trees.

Our sunsets
The B&B faces west with all glass frontage on 2 levels. Each evening our view of the sunset represents a different scene.  Always beautiful in it's own way, with colors from bright orange with red accents turning the water purple to soft cloudy blue with a tint of orange underlay. Come and see our sunset!

Lyle and Kathryn owned and operated a Minnesota Resort for 11 years prior to building this unique home.  Together they designed, built and created all the unique features in this exquisite round home built in 2007.  They added the tree house in the spring of 2015.
This area is important to them as Kathryn grew up in these woods and so did her father and grandfather.

Lyle owns a cabinet and construction Business.
Living in the Chippewa is a dream come true as both enjoy the lake and woods and all the activities they provide.  Both love to hunt & fish and take pride in the home and property.  Kathryn has a variety of gardens and really loves the out doors and tending to them.  Another passion is caring for and grooming the ski trails, it takes a lot of hard work but is well worth the time spent.  If the temperature is above 0 Kathryn can be found on her ski trails everyday in the winter. Caring for every aspect of the property is what drives her and puts her in her element.
