The end of the season a new beginning

Yes, we get melencholy when the boats are all put away and the dock is no longer in the lake but we pull the dock back far enough so we can ski down the hill and not run into it.  It is sad that our summer season is so short and with only 3 rooms not everyone can get a room when they want one.  Looking on the bright side though we are thinking that soon we will be out on our XC ski trails.  Our ski trails are beautiful and very private so if you want to give it a try, please get your reservations in early.  Don't forget about snowmobiling too!  All this right outside our doors!

RIP Jerry
This past week the nicest guy (besides my husband) in our township passed away, his wife found him drowned in the lake.  What a hard week it was for us.  Lyle was in Canada goose hunting so I stayed by Helens side all week, helping make arrangements, answering the phone and planning the memorial.  I did all the food and set-up for the memorial with help from a few others.  My house was full with Jerry's brother Bills whole family.  What a great bunch they are too!  It makes you think when you meet so many nice people like that what a wonderful life he must have had with them all.  The memorial was beautiful, with about 80 close friends and family, the food was good if I don't say so myself.  Many telling me to go back in the catering business, I don't think so but thanks for all the compliments and to those who helped out!

Lyle and Kathryn owned and operated a Minnesota Resort for 11 years prior to building this unique home.  Together they designed, built and created all the unique features in this exquisite round home built in 2007.  They added the tree house in the spring of 2015.
This area is important to them as Kathryn grew up in these woods and so did her father and grandfather.

Lyle owns a cabinet and construction Business.
Living in the Chippewa is a dream come true as both enjoy the lake and woods and all the activities they provide.  Both love to hunt & fish and take pride in the home and property.  Kathryn has a variety of gardens and really loves the out doors and tending to them.  Another passion is caring for and grooming the ski trails, it takes a lot of hard work but is well worth the time spent.  If the temperature is above 0 Kathryn can be found on her ski trails everyday in the winter. Caring for every aspect of the property is what drives her and puts her in her element.
