Not always going up north
Our most recent guest came south to get here. Yes from Canada, the most friendly people you could ask for. Just
looking for some quiet time together and very interested in the designs in the home. They enjoyed our ski trails and
took a nice tour of Bemidji with a promise to re-visit this summer.
The hardest days
The temperatures have been very cold and the snow just hasn't quit much. These are the hardest days for me, when
I can't go outside. It's just too cold! The nice thing this week was the full moon and clear skies.
The woods were very lit up for those who wanted to dare the cold and moon lite ski.
Well 1/11/11 was a great day to turn 50 after a week end of Partien. The weekend was filled with lots of friends,
family and activity. We started out with a 13 mile snowmobile ride over to the log deck to watch the Sled Dog Races.
We had our annual bondfire, made smores & watched for most of the afternoon. Then back to the inn to get ready
for the big party. We weren't quite ready when people were arriving but thanks to the special people who helped
us out we got it together. The inn was dimmed with a night club atmosphere with the holiday decorations sparkling everywhere.
The Jazz Quartet set up in a darkened corner of the guest great room and food spread out forever. The bar was lined
with colored crystal glasses for guests to choose from a lovely birthday drink, a variety of wine or beer. The guests
were all the friendliest people we know. The house was packed with people, milling, talking and enjoying the music by
the Snowflakes featuring my daughter Karissa as the soloist. There were gifts piled up all over and a huge three tiered
cake. Everyone had a wonderful time, especially me the
birthday girl Thanks everybody I had fun!
Happy New Year!
